Napa Fun

Skyline Wilderness Park RV and Campground, Napa, CA.  Great sites and
many, many hiking trails.  Nice!

Festival Sole! Napa Wine and Food Event.  Like SoBe Food and Wine but more sophisticated (country club setting).

Festival Sole!  Symphony at the Lincoln Theater, Yountville, CA.

At Oxbow Market!  Gluten-Free heaven.  C Casa 100% Gluten Free Menu!

A C Casa Taco.  Does the picture say it all?
(wine not in picture- in Riedel glasses- yes, for "fast food")

Wine Country Day 1- Calistoga, CA

Castello di Amorosa Winery- need I say more?

Lunch spot outside of Castello di Amorosa.  Not bad?

 Happy place.

Joanne trying to pick up an emu.  Emu not interested in humans.  Go figure!

Wine tasting at Up Valley Vintners- so much fun.
Us with owner of Barlow Vineyards,  Mr. Smith, and his great 2012 Sauvignon Blanc.

A MUST- Golden Haven Spa.  Couples mud bath.  Looks yucky, but it is WONDERFUL!
After in the mud, which is hot, the attendant waits on you: puts cold compresses on your head, gives you cold water, and places a face mask as you "float" on mud.  After you shower, you get into a mineral jacuzzi.  Then, you are taken to the relaxation room where you're wrapped and put to a nap!  What else can I say?

Joanne heaven.  Bosko's Trattoria.  Gluten-free heaven.  Pizza, pasta, and entrees all GF.
We had the GF pizza, half applewood smoked pepperoni and half sausage and mushrooms (the waitress, Nicole, told us the GF crust is actually better), and then we had the chicken marsala (GF)-  so delicious that Melissa tried to decompose the ingredients to make it back home!!  Thanks to our RV host (reception) who is also GF and told us of this place only .5 mile from the campground (in "downtown" Calistoga)

Calistoga Fun to Napa PM- day 1

Lava Wines.  Boutique winery.  Great time.  Matt took this picture.
Then, he and Joe, the winemaker, jammed on their banjo and guitar.
Bought the uncharacteristic Zinfandel- very light for a Zin. What an experience!

Another smaller production.  Bought  the Merlot.  They have a great
Charbono, as well.  Met the owner.  Met Melissa who went to Vintage High School, home of the Crushers!

 Lovely downtown stroll.

Industry tasting at Jordan.  Very fine.  Thank you Eric Hemmer.

Jordan Chardonnay.

After Jordan, one must go to the offspring, J Wines, produced by daughter.
Excellent!  We joined the wine club and had some amazing wines.

Kunde Estate Winery.  Again, compliments of Eric Hemmer.
We sat under these umbrellas and chatted with the wine maker Zach Long.
He makes over 55 wines- wines for Kunde and wines for Trader Joe's and Kirkland (Costco)!

Need I say more?  Guess where we are?

And, then dinner and dessert at Celedon, Napa.  Totally a fluke.
Melissa put into Google, "find a restaurant near me."   Celedon was a result.
Open Table had a 7 PM reservation.  Little did we know that we were
dining in one of the best restaurants in the area, and that they are
100% gluten-free friendly.  Here's only one part of the meal- but
Joanne's favorite.  Apple Galette!  Wow, that's all.

Beautiful small boutique winery.  Great visit!

Dancin Winery, Rogue Valley, OR-
Great Atmosphere, Great Service, Beautiful!
A must on the wine tour.

Caprice Winery, Rogue Valley, OR.
Small Boutique winery.  Owners greet you and serve you great wine.
Bought the Chardonnay that Jim made from the grapes in the background (near the car)
and bought the Cabertnet Sauvignon- good!   Loved the atmosphere.

Alpacas- this is what brought the owners of Caprice to Oregon.  Aren't they cute?

Valley View winery, Applegate, OR.  Fabulous late harvest
Sauvignon Blanc....reminded us of ice wine from Niagara!
