And the king of wine...Barolo!

Visit to Poderi Luigi Einaudi and Marchesi di Barolo. The day began with a visit to the 17century estate of Luigi Einaudi, first president of Italy. We toured the cellars and wine making facility and ended with a tasting of their wines. Off to Barolo to Marchesi di Barolo. After viewing the enoteca, we got a surprise offer to tour the cellars. And what a treat! Marchesi has 150 year old, restored barrels (gigantic)! We were surprised by a quick visit/photo opportunity from Anna, the lady/dame of Marchesi. Barolo wine tasting followed, and Barolo does not disappoint! We thank our very sweet and knowledgable guides for the tasting and tour-- By far the richest wine in the area! :)
